“He Works Best Who Knows His Trade”

Know Your Trade

Have you ever wonder if you know everything that you’re supposed to know about your trade?

I mean really???

A lot of people seem to think that if they go to college, get a degree in something, that’s all they have to do to be successful at what they’re getting into.

They rarely see that the chance of them becoming uninterested in what they’re studying is high. Or that the skill they’re spending so much time learning about may not be in demand or may become obsolete in the near future… They just want to finish their schooling, get the paper and be done with it.

They forget that many people have degrees yet still cannot find employment in their field of study.

Nevertheless, there are those lucky ones who do and are very happy.

However, there are also those who don’t. They spend years regretting time wasted and contemplating what to do next?

Rarely do people ask themselves; “Have I learned all that there is to know about my field of study?” Or, “What more can I learn?” Or, ” Is there another option available to me, if not actual similar?”.

No-one, after years of studying a particular field of interest is prone to going back and learning more about that particular interest that they initially began studying… Chances are no.

They most likely would take what knowledge they can then move on to the next interest. Which may or may not be a good idea, It depends.

Do you know your trade like the back of your hand?

The ins and outs?

If asked to explain your trade to someone that knows absolutely nothing about it. Training them and providing enough information to get them started on their way on doing exactly what you do… Can you? Would you?

If you know your job, you can work best of all… If you’re concerned about competition then you obviously don’t know your trade as well as you may think you do.

There may be many that can do the job you can do, but do they know the trade like you?

Recently, I have noticed a huge amount of spin-offs on my trade of live, recorded and written music reviews.

Those creative individuals work hard to make themselves as unique as possible. Yet will hardly come close to what I’m capable of doing or can hardly keep up with the knowledge that I have obtained with years of combined training and experience.

Each person should know what their capabilities are and should be able to explain to any other person, the methodology involving their trade.

They should be able to relay exactly what they do. How to do it and how to keep doing it.

They should be able to teach it to other individuals simply and efficiently.

That’s what makes me exceptional at what I do. I am confident enough to know that I am #1 at underground, unsigned and unheard music reviews.

I have an extensive “unproven” background in the music business from since I was a teenager. (Unproven ONLY because of the lack of recent technological advances that I didn’t have access to back in the day or access to the many different and current types of recording equipment that are available to us now that weren’t available to us back then.).

Here is a small list of my talents and skills.

1. I have been transcribing music onto paper since 1984. Preparing music sheets for Copyright©.

2. I’ve been playing the piano/keyboards for YEARS… As long as I can remember.

3. I can listen to any music piece and play all parts. May take a few listens but I can play the piece.

4. I was one of the very first people to do Live music reviews in 2014 and 2015… Right on Facebook…    (Now look how many people are doing the same thing!) I moved on from that because too many people are doing it now… (Go figure, its time for something else.).

5.I just know my s**t… (When writing music reviews, one must have a grasp of what the artist was thinking while creating the track, (My specialty). Not just listen to the music piece and talk about it…

6. I can tell how the artist was feeling and what motivated them to write the music score by just listening to the lyrics. Also, if the music was created using actual instruments versus being created with digital equipment.

7. I have built up an enormous contact list of popular and experienced music professionals. Professionals that are into commercial advertisement, journalism, performing arts and have been in the business of helping unheard artists get their music out to the public and heard by eager listeners. These Professionals are also in search of new talent and are willing to teach their trade to others as well. My contacts also have extensive track records in the music business also in the production and recording business.

Know Your Worth

The reason why I no longer write music reviews is because I know my worth…

I Can’t do freebies anymore and some people don’t want to pay, are reluctant to pay or can’t afford my editorial services.

Plus… It takes time to review a musical piece. Time is money💁.

You can’t just listen to a recording and just #talk about the artist without discussing the other aspects involved… Like how the artist got to where he or she is right now… Everybody has a story…

Also just like promotion, providing artist links, creating discographies, assembling graphics and general support or business referrals… (Which some people do for themselves but others have no clue on how to do or what looks good or what graphics/video/advertisment fit with the music score, etc.).

I know my trade… That’s what makes me and my services Unique. 😊

I’m proud of the work that I have done for companies such as Exposed Vocals and others that have nothing to do with the industry.

My music reviews and work history are exclusive…

My Live music reviews would be unique because of what I know how to do.

I Don’t just stick to one or two genres… I go across the board… I tackle #All types of music genres. No specific kind of music, although I have my favorites.

I read music… I write music… I transcribe music… I create music… I produce… I sing… I dance… I act…

But most of all I share what I know… So that others can benefit… Whether it be benefiting by doing what I do or something else.

I love it when people are motivated and hundreds of people have been motivated by my efforts into becoming professional with my hobbies such as making music or photography.

I have even advised people…

I have created legal documents, such as contracts etc.

Even created a list of interview questions many years ago, (those are the questions that I used to ask artists in general), during exclusive interviews.

I know my trade…👊😎

So do you know your trade?

Can you teach others what you do?

Are you willing to?

What

If you are and you do, then you know your trade well… That makes for a person that does their job very well indeed!

New Year, New You

Every adversity, every failure, every heartache carries with it the seed of an equal or greater benefit. With these benefits come the keys to success, which is happiness.

Success is not the key to happiness, however, happiness is the key to success. If you are actually loving what you are doing you will be successful at it.

What are the changes and adjustments that you’re making to ensure your success?

With 2019 well on the way, there are less than 267 days left in 2019Live CountDown to 2020 and just as many opportunities to make those changes.

Imagining yourself without that job is a sure way to appreciate those tasks that you may consider menial or easy. Your ability to do those tasks, your motivation to actively achieve them and do them well.

Furthermore, your attitude while doing them determines those results. Then why aren’t more people just casually, purposefully, and genuinely happy or project happiness more often or just in general, out of habit or practice?

SEASON OF CHANGE

A New Year should equal a New You. Although we have 365 opportunities every year to change, there are those who simply refuse to take advantage of that bonus to make whatever changes they need or feel necessary for those changes to occur, then adjust themselves accordingly.

Not because they worry about things that won’t even matter in a few days, weeks or months but because in life things are rarely perfect when we want them to be.

Nevertheless, there is an opposition to all things. Up-down, left-right, good-bad… The scale is always balanced and people are the only creatures on the planet that have a choice on which side of their own personal scale of balance to choose to be on.

Regardless of how much emphasis you are putting into living that life to its fullest one should never give up on their dreams.

If you’re pushing harder than you did yesterday or last year, you’re working to make your tomorrow a better one. That power to make changes makes the New You.

Regarding the fear of change?

Running away and giving up on your problems doesn’t solve them. Facing and embracing them does. If you want successful outcomes in life, you can park in those tempting parking spaces on the road of life.

You are today, where your thoughts have brought you. Tomorrow, you will be where your thoughts will bring you. Being passionate about your life, taking chances and learning to live without the fear of failing is a

positive life change that will bring out the new you! Passing failure often leads to success!

We are blessed with excellent opportunities to make things better for ourselves every day. There is absolutely no reason why you should not take advantage of those very same opportunities to make things better for ourselves, families, relations and those around us. Making things better for them, as well as our own. As long as we keep trying to make things work.

What you become from these experiences is far more important than what you are going through to get there. What you receive, is influenced by what you become from choosing to change.

Is It Hard To Change?

Yes, of course, it is difficult to change, that’s to be expected. You can”t expect change to occur without the manifestation of a particular action. Sometimes those actions hurt like hell. Nevertheless, It is in having the option, that whenever a new day arrives, that you will be able to try again. That is a tremendous benefit.

What changes have I made so far this year?

When it comes to home and family life, I wrestle daily to be better myself. By being a recently separated grandmother, that lives with three of her adult children. My daily activities include a whole lot of ME TIME. When up until last year, a substantial amount of my time includes taking care of a spouse, (2009 to 2018, no longer the case),  and spent recovering from a six-year span of chronic seizures that occurred as a result of having a 3.5-centimeter meningioma from my brain in October 2005, I suffered from 2006 to 2012 and was considered a liability due to the frequency of seizure activity. Also, no longer a problem.

Imagine this change. Mind you… I have always been kind of sickly, but would never let that sickness, Asthma hinder me in any way. Remember, there have not always been inhalers, but I managed to get by… Always hoping for tomorrow. I never gave up. Now I am here writing to you, whoever you may be. Letting you know that even though the New Year is No Longer new and whether you want it to occur or not, Time, Fate and Destiny will make certain that change will occur.

Not that my kids complain of my caterpillar-like progress, but by that final stage to be compared to that of a beautiful butterfly. It is the results of change that make the difference to you and those around you. I can personally attest to that. That it definitely feels good. Moreover, any of my children, all successful in their own way, btw, would say, “Hush mom, you took care of us, it’s our turn.”

This is a direct result of a positive change.

Thanks for reading this blog. Please feel free to drop me a line. I always love reading the awesome feedback that you all give. I appreciate you visiting. Please come back soon!

The Bad Attitude

The only disability in life is a bad attitude.

People all over can tell when a person has a bad attitude for nothing or when they’re having an over exaggerated attitude about a situation being addressed.

You’ve seen it. A mother and her child gets on a bus. It seems like she has everything under control. But only after few moments you begin to notice who’s really in control.

You begin to offer to help the women but she refuses all offers of help with her out-of-control little demon monster child. Oh, come on…

You know you’ve seen those types of children. Hell-bent on making every waking minute of their caregivers day a re-livable nightmare.

How can a bad attitude be handled?

Well, first of all, When you are faced with a problem, you must adopt an attitude of “you can and will solve it.”

MAINTAINING the right attitude is easier than REGAINING the right attitude. For example, getting frustrated about observing an out of control child on a bus giving their caregiver problems. You may at times think that this person has their hands full and then some or even “what would you do if” kind of scenario, you can’t help but wonder.

Who’s in control, you or that attitude?

Have you heard this before? “If you don’t control your attitude, then your attitude will control you.” A bad attitude is like a flat tire, you won’t be able to move forward unless you change it.

A person can seriously change their future just by changing their attitude. Anything that we face cannot be as important as our attitude toward it.

Our attitude determines our success or failure towards any given task or subject and the way you think about a subject could break you before you can ever do anything about it. You are overcome by the subject because you think you are.

In all and in every case, it’s two things that will define you, your patience when you have nothing, and your attitude when you have everything.

Because in life things are rarely perfect. Nevertheless, there is an opposition to all things. Up-down, left-right, good-bad… The scale is always balanced and people are the only creatures on the planet that have a choice on which side to choose.

You control your attitude. If you are negative it is because you have decided to be negative and not because of other people or circumstances. Your attitude is the only thing in life that you do have absolute control over.

You create beauty with your attitude, and it’s your behaviors, your reactions and your actions that determine how much beauty there is to enjoy. It’s all up to you!

Everyone should understand that everything should be considered subjective. A regular person’s circumstances have nothing to do with their past or present events and their perception of those events along with the attitude and manner that they choose to approach it.

When we are on a journey we don’t fear change, we welcome it, we look forward to new and unfamiliar experiences, we are full of optimism because we are filled with the expectation of a wonderful adventure and it’s the perfect attitude to carry with you every day because life too is a journey. ~Anonymous

Unfamiliar Circumstances Shape Attitudes

When we experience unfamiliar circumstances, we Are usually filled with optimism because we expect a positive experience. Having the right attitude, can without a doubt, carry you cheerfully through your journey’s end.

The attitude should be that if you’re being pushed towards something that is thought of as a weakness, then it can turn a perspective weakness into an exceptional strength.

When your knowledge speaks, your wisdom will be listening.

It is your attitude towards life that will determine life’s attitude towards you. Despite many people’s belief to the contrary, life pays no favorites ~ Anonymous

When it comes to the attitude I’m sure that all people have had their fair share of recognizing another person attitude as offensive than having to tolerate a bad one.

Either way, we should be taking negative attitudes that may possibly come to our ways, such as insults or smart quirky or obnoxious verbal taunts that others may hurl at you and make something positive from them.

“Laugh…and the whole world laughs with you. Cry and you’re usually crying alone.
